I watched 1989 Tour in Singapore. Wohoo!!

How did I get there?

So here we go. I was in the middle of having a conversation with my friend, Amal, while waiting for a train to come and get us home. It was Tuesday, November 3^rd. I checked my phone and found out 3 missed calls from my other friend, Rama. Not only missed calls, he texted me to immediately call him back. I was so shocked and didn’t know what to do so I called him via LINE. But it couldn’t connect to him due to bad signal. I was a train wreck because it seemed like an emergency and I had no balance to call nor text him and then BOOM! Rama texted me.

“Dev, we’re going to Singapore! Friday-Sunday! Make it happen, yes? Now I need your information about your full name, BOD, phone number, and passport number. Rama. REPLY ASAP!”

He texted me twice and I was so shocked I still couldn’t believe it when another text came in saying “PLANE, HOTEL, TAYLOR’S CONCERT TICKET ALL FREE!” It was all from Cornetto. Couldn’t thank Cornetto enough!

You know exactly what I’d do. Yes. I cried. In a train. With full of people staring at me because I jumped and kinda screamed and hugged Amal several times with teary eyes. I relied to Rama about everything he needed but my passport number because I wouldn’t bring my passport on me 24/7, right? And so I lent Amal’s phone to call my sister to get my passport and to tell me my number. My sister was kinda confused about what happened because I didn’t tell him what was going on and then I told her while my mom looked after my passport, that I got to watch Taylor in a few days!

Everything was so goddamn confusing I couldn’t help it but running from the station to ojek to get me home asap.

Long story short, it was THE DAY. FRIDAY. I arrived at the airport around 5 am and saw Kak Tiara and Anjar. Checking in to the officer, scanning my bags, waiting for the gate to open, and then we were above the ground for 1H 45M. I got window seat, my favorite seat, but still couldn’t feel happier about the fact that I’d be seeing Taylor the next day.

I got Bus D and only filled with 16 people including me. We got Kak Olivia as our tour leader from the travelling agent. She’s really nice and sweet! We went to some of Singapore’s destination tour and got an hour free at Bugis Street. We got $50 card and I bought 1989 World Tour Champion KEDS for only $29! They don’t sell it in Indonesia tho. So lucky!

Went home, 8 of us went to explore Orchard and arrived back around 9 pm. Then, Rama and Anjar came to my room (twin beds with Kak Tiara) and then we made our costumes for tomorrow. I traded my costume with Rama and Rama gave me and Kak Tiara twinning costumes.

Day 2. We went to Madame Tussauds Singapore and took a lot of pics with Taylor Swift wax figure. Lunch, and back to hotel at 2 pm and had some rest before heading to Singapore Indoor Stadium at 4 pm. At the stadium, we took a giant picture with Cornetto (check Cornetto LINE for it) and then tickets were at hands! Finally!

We met Citra and Ria, one of our Indonesian friend and Coco from @taylorswifthk (Twitter). The stadium was so clean and full of swifties! I bought some Taylor’s merchandise and then we queued to enter the venue. Taylor Nation photo booth was there and we queued again to take our photo there. Ally, from Taylor Nation was so nice and incredible and sweet OH MY GOD. She talked to us like we’ve been friends forever! She asked what section we were and so happy when she saw my costume with Kak Tiara (Incredible Things Perfume), Anjar (Sean’s costume in Blank Space music video), and Rama (Liberty Statue). Oh, while queueing, we met Coco and her friend and her mom. Her mom was so cool. Mom goals!

Taylor also put her costumes to display. Such as her Blank Space costume, Shake It Off costume, SNL costume as Natalie, and her Billboard 2013 dress from Zuhair Murad.

Entering the venue, I was so pumped I couldn's sit quietly. You know the cue, when Feels So Close starts to play, that’s when you know Taylor is coming real soon. The lights off, the lasers out, Taylor came out. IT WAS MAGICAL. IT WAS AMAZING. IT WAS GROOL. I am proud to admit that I cried as soon as Welcome To New York started. The lights were FREAKIN AMAZING I CRIED SO MANY TIMES.

Oh, did I tell you yet that TAYLOR WAVED AT ME TWICE WHEN I WAS BLOWING HER KISSES? YES SHE DID. On her elevated stage, Taylor was exactly in front of me when she waved at me. I cried even harder and at some point, girls behind me were whispering loudly “is she crying?” OH MY GOD YES I WAS YOU HAD NO IDEA GURL. Taylor also gave us some beautiful speeches and I cried during Clean speech because no one ever talked to me like that, gave me advices like that. She’s definitely best friend material.

Out of the woods live was too majestic. It’s my baby since it came out. I cant believe it I did see it live because a year ago I told myself that I wouldn’t be able to see it live because I was too broke and Taylor wouldn’t come to Indonesia.

Anyway, I saw Paul wearing brown tshirt with khaki pants after the show when he was about to enter the car. One thing I will always remember is when I and Kak Tiara were so thirsty and tired but no store inside the venue was still open. A cute guy saw us (he’s one of the employee that sells drinks and snacks) and gave us two mineral bottles. When I was about to open my wallet, he said they’re all free. We were so thankful and spent our 5 minutes finishing what’s inside the bottle and we literally forgot to say goodbye because we got separated with Rama and Anjar and then when we finally saw them, we approached them. Kak Tiara later told me that that cute guy and his friend wanted to take a picture with us but maybe we were too busy with our drinks that they decided not to bother us first. (HI CUTE GUY IF YOU’RE READING THIS, IT’S NOT TOO LATE *winky winy*).

Day 3. It’s time to go back to reality. Two hours on board because due to bad condition of the weather, we flew above to 33K feet. Anywayyyy, we found out that our photo at the Taylor Nation photobooth is on Taylor’s website. YEAYY!!!! We didn’t meet Taylor in person yet but at least we got the waves and our photo on her website.

It’s a nice experience with Cornetto. No. IT’S A FREAKING AMAZING EXPERIENCE WITH CORNETTO. Thank you Cornetto! See you soon!
